BILL HJORT

President/Owner

Bill Hjort graduated from Milaca High School in 1981 and from St. Olaf College with a degree in economics in 1985. After college he worked for ten years with the federal agencies FDIC and RTC closing and liquidating banks and savings and loans, with the last three years at the headquarters in Washington D.C. After a half year in Denver and a year in Park Rapids, MN working in real estate, Bill moved back to work with his dad Bob in the family business.
Outside of the business he is busy with his wife Laura and three grade school children. Additional interests include spending time at "the land", growing vegetables, playing hockey, camping, and vacationing with his family.

RENEE FRANSEN

Office Manager/Lender

Renee grew up in the Milaca area and graduated from Milaca High School.  After working in the insurance field for 10 years, she started at Town & Country Finance, Inc. in 2001 and has been with the company since then.
She is married to John Fransen Jr.  They have three sons, Matthew, Justin, & Travis.  She enjoys gardening, walking and being with family and friends.

Administration/Collections

Linda grew up and graduated high school in Duluth MN.  After graduating from college in Duluth & St Cloud she has worked in the medical field before coming over to Town & Country Finance, Inc. in 2013.
She is married and lives in the Foreston area where she enjoys time with her 2 children and 6 grandchildren

Vice President

Bob grew up in Foreston, Minnesota and graduated from Milaca High School in 1952.    He then attended Bethel College and later the University of  Minnesota to obtain a business degree.  Bob had a passion for flying, and in addition to his time in the Naval Reserves he spent 5 years in active duty as a Naval jet pilot flying F3H Demon fighter planes off of aircraft carriers in the Pacific Ocean.
In 1962 Bob moved to Milaca, partnered with his dad Bill in the finance business in Foreston, and incorporated the business as "Hjort & Son Finance, Inc.".  Bob later changed the name to "Town & Country Finance, Inc." and moved the business to Milaca in 1978 (the new office building featured indoor plumbing).  Bob owned and operated the business for 36 years before selling it to his son Bill, and he continues to work for Town & Country Finance, Inc. on a part time basis.   In his part time retirement Bob enjoys traveling with his wife of 57 years, Barbara, reading, sports, choral performances with the Duluth DSSO Chorus, deer hunting with his sons and grandchildren, and regular exercise.
